Case Study and Facilitator Guide

The Diabetes Goes to School case is an original case study written as a contribution to interprofessional public health pedagogy, with an accompanying facilitator guide designed to enable students to lead or co-lead discussions with their peers. Together, the case and facilitator guide invite students to explore how policies interact and how language shapes policy outcomes through an interdisciplinary public health lens. Themes include the roles of health professionals and laypersons in addressing health needs, medical licensing, chronic health conditions in youth, disability rights, access to education, and the ways federal, state, local, and organizational policies can reinforce or contradict one another.
